The Quick Read

Apparel moves through stores and screens

Local brands live in a national retail market, but the strongest ones still give people something worth wearing close to home. These figures put that wider market in view, from the dollars moving through clothing stores to the share of retail happening online.

Source Notes

Numbers worth quoting cleanly

Store-sales figures are seasonally adjusted monthly estimates. The 4.3% year-over-year change is calculated from the June 2025 and June 2026 values in the same series. Household spending is reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics as average annual spending per consumer unit. E-commerce figures are U.S. Census Bureau second-quarter 2026 estimates.

Every figure above links to its named source and reporting period. This page is refreshed when a key source publishes newer data.
